Just under a year into her time at Animal League America, Saarah has already made a meaningful impact. From assisting with rescues to ensuring the animals have a clean, safe space to thrive, she plays an important role in helping both pets and people. “My favorite part is seeing an animal gain trust and open up, especially after all they’ve been through. It’s a reminder of the love, kindness and patience that everyone at the organization shows.”
One moment that left a lasting impression came on her first day, when she met Max, an 11-year-old orange tabby who had recently lost his owner. “I remember sitting in BFF, reading his story, and feeling so emotional,” she recalled. “It helped me realize that while many of these animals come from sad backgrounds, our role is to give them the love and care they deserve.” Max was soon adopted by a loving family — a moment that reinforced why she volunteers.
